Your provider tracks mood, functioning, and meds response as the plan is adjusted over time.

Do Any of These Feel Familiar?

If these sound familiar, medication management for depression may be worth revisiting with a trusted provider.

What Happens During Depression Medication Management

The visit gives your provider a clearer picture of where treatment stands and what should happen next.

Current baseline

You talk through how depression is showing up day to day, what feels harder than it used to, and what you want treatment to change.

Medication response

You look at what you have tried, what helped, what caused problems, and what no longer feels right in your current plan.

Next-step decisions

You leave with a plan for what comes next, whether that means starting, changing, continuing, or monitoring medication.

Clarify Your Next Step With Depression Medication Management

Sagebrush Psychiatry helps you review symptoms, medication fit, and treatment options so you can leave with a clearer plan for what comes next.

At Sagebrush Psychiatry our mission is to improve access to mental health services for patients that reside in Nevada, Alaska, and Arizona.  Our practice is mostly telemedicine, but we do conduct in person office visits when deemed necessary and require in person appointments for patients taking controlled substances. Telemedicine allows us to provide more immediate and flexible scheduling to meet each patient’s needs. Many of our patients report that conducting their appointments from home is not only more convenient, but less stressful. Currently we are accepting new patients and in network with most major insurances. We strive to form a collaborative relationship with each patient and develop an individualized treatment plan to achieve results.

Initial Diagnostic Evaluation

Initial diagnostic evaluations consist of a comprehensive interview to explore the reasons for your visit, past psychiatric history, medical history, and social history. Patients transferring care will often be asked to sign a release of information form so that we can obtain medical records from your previous prescriber and review your treatment history prior to your appointment. During the evaluation, patients will be given the opportunity to ask questions and have treatment options explained. At Sagebrush Psychiatry we want every patient to understand treatment options and make informed decisions. Our goal is to develop an evidence-based treatment plan where you understand the potential risks and benefits of each treatment option. Our prescriptive philosophy is to get patients feeling better with as few medications as possible and at the lowest dose that adequately addresses problematic symptoms.

Follow-Up Appointments

Follow-up appointments are used to assess a patient’s response to medication and other interventions. We will often use evidence-based tools such as psychometric scales to objectively track progress. This is the time you and your clinician will discuss possible changes to your treatment plan to achieve treatment goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Antidepressant medication management is ongoing care that helps track how depression medication is working. At Sagebrush Psychiatry, visits focus on symptoms, side effects, medication response, and what may need to change over time.

Depression medications may include SSRIs, SNRIs, atypical antidepressants, and other options when clinically appropriate. The right medication depends on your symptoms, health history, past response, side effects, and current medications.

There is no single first choice for every patient. SSRIs are often prescribed for depression and are generally considered relatively safe, but the right starting point depends on your symptoms, history, and side effect risks.

No antidepressant is the safest option for everyone. Side effects vary by medication and by person, so Sagebrush Psychiatry reviews your medical history, current medications, concerns, and response over time before making recommendations.

Sagebrush Psychiatry is in network with major insurances. Your cost depends on your plan, deductible, copay, and benefits. The best next step is to check your insurance coverage before scheduling.
